A more in-depth assessment with 182 control requirements and increased testing rigor, designed to demonstrate a higher level of security maturity.

r2 – Risk-based
The most comprehensive HITRUST assessment, with hundreds of controls dynamically scoped based on organizational risk factors. Common for larger or more mature organizations.

Timelines vary based on assessment level, readiness, and remediation needs. e1 assessments are typically faster than i1 or r2. We provide a clear timeline during scoping.

HITRUST allows organizations to inherit certain controls from certified cloud providers (such as AWS or Azure), vendors, and your organization’s existing HITRUST Validated or Certified Assessments. This can significantly reduce testing effort when applicable.
