Advantage Partners Expands ISO Certification Services with ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 27701 Accreditations

Advantage Partners has expanded its ISO auditing services with accreditation from the International Accreditation Service (IAS) for ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 27701, effective August 7, 2026.

The new accreditations authorize Advantage Partners to perform certification audits and issue certifications for two areas becoming increasingly important to technology companies: responsible AI management and data privacy.

The expansion builds on Advantage Partners’ existing ISO/IEC 27001 accreditation and gives organizations a broader path to independently validate how they manage security, privacy, and emerging AI risks.

Two Standards for a Changing Risk Landscape

ISO/IEC 42001 is the international management system standard for artificial intelligence. It establishes an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) for organizations that develop, provide, or use AI systems, with requirements addressing areas such as AI governance, risk management, transparency, accountability, and responsible use.

As organizations integrate AI more deeply into products and business processes, ISO/IEC 42001 certification provides independent validation that they have established a systematic approach to managing AI-related risks.

The accreditation builds on Advantage Partners’ broader work in AI assurance, including participation in the consortium behind AIUC-1, an emerging standard for agentic AI.

ISO/IEC 27701 provides a framework for establishing and maintaining a Privacy Information Management System (PIMS). It helps organizations formalize how they manage personally identifiable information (PII), privacy risks, data subject rights, vendor relationships, and other privacy responsibilities.

For companies operating across markets or facing growing customer expectations around privacy, ISO/IEC 27701 provides a globally recognized way to demonstrate mature privacy practices.

Expanding the Advantage Partners Assurance Portfolio

The two accreditations extend Advantage Partners’ ability to independently certify organizations across complementary areas of technology risk.

“We’re seeing clients navigate AI governance, privacy, and security requirements that used to sit in separate siloes and now don’t,” said James Whiteside, Co-founder of Advantage Partners. “Adding ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 27701 to our accredited scope means we can meet them where their compliance program is actually heading, with the same rigor and independence across every framework we assess.”

For organizations already working within ISO management systems, the expanded portfolio also creates opportunities to coordinate certification efforts and build on existing processes rather than treating security, privacy, and AI governance as entirely separate initiatives.

What This Means for Advantage Partners Clients

Advantage Partners can now conduct accredited certification audits for organizations pursuing ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 27701 certification, alongside its existing ISO/IEC 27001 certification services.

For growing technology companies, that means access to an experienced certification team across three closely related areas of trust: information security, privacy, and responsible AI management.
